The idea of a number of art events going on in Sherwood at the same time, originated after a weekend Art Exhibition at The Place, at the end of May 08. One person said it, another ran with it and a small group formed to explore the idea.
We contacted the local council and after a very positive response came up with a week of art events allied to the one day Sherwood Festival on Wood thorpe Park (run for the first time this year). The dates are 13th – 20th June 2009, the Festival day being on Saturday 20th.
There have since been two Artist Involvement Meetings, both well attended, successful and ideas filled. We have now set the Deadline date for Artists Final Proposals for Monday 19th January 2009. A week before this there will be an Involvement Meeting to iron out final questions, this is set for 12th Jan 09 at the Place (7.30-9.oopm)
In the meantime there is to be an interim phase intended to help artists focus their ideas and to show organisers the scope and size of involvement. Artists need to submit an Outline Proposal Form by 1st December 08. The next Involvement Meeting is on Monday 8th Dec 2008 at the Place (7.30-9.00pm)
